Officials at Mengwi Bus Terminal, Bali's largest transport hub, have noted a significant uptick in passenger traffic. Arriving passenger numbers surged to 72,001 in April 2026, compared to just 41,360 in March—a dramatic 74% increase attributed primarily to East Javanese travelers returning home after Eid al-Fitr celebrations on the island.

"Traffic conditions at Mengwi Terminal remain calm so far, although there has been an increase in the number of arriving passengers compared to departing passengers," said Dewa Gede Tantara Tesaputra, Head of Mengwi Terminal, in recent comments to reporters.
