Be Sharp Bali's Momentum Concert Blends Classical and Balinese Music
Be Sharp Bali Returns with "Momentum" Concert Celebrating Classical Music and Balinese Tradition
Bali's premier classical music education organization, Be Sharp Bali, is hosting an evening of cross-cultural musical celebration on Sunday, 12 April 2026, at the Dharma Negara Alaya (DNA Art & Creative Hub) in Denpasar. The concert, titled "Momentum – Dance, Music & Song from East to West," promises to blend European classical compositions with traditional Balinese performance art in a single, inspiring program.
A Two-Part Evening of Musical Contrasts
The concert's first half will showcase vibrant string orchestra works by celebrated composers including Peter Hope, Ottorino Respighi, Johannes Brahms, and Nikos Skalkottas. These pieces are designed to deliver rhythm, color, and energy to opening audiences' ears to classical music's universal appeal.
The second half shifts focus to local culture and emerging young talent. It will feature performances by students from Be Sharp Bali and Suzuki Bali, alongside a special presentation by Sanggar Seni Dhira Pradiva, a traditional arts group from Klungkung in East Bali. The ensemble will perform Maguru Lagu, a modern interpretation of traditional Balinese tembang (song) designed to demonstrate how children learn cultural values through music.
"All proceeds from the concert and the silent auction will support the Be Sharp Bali Scholarship Program," making this a community-focused event that combines entertainment with educational support.
Affordable Access for Students
Recognizing the importance of making classical music accessible to younger audiences, Be Sharp Bali is offering 50% student discounts on all tickets purchased online using the code STUDENT. Valid student identification will be required at the venue entrance.
The concert begins at 6:00 pm and runs as a one-night-only event, making it an exclusive opportunity for Denpasar residents and visitors interested in Bali's vibrant cultural and musical scene.
