Marriott International Returns Charity Golf Tournament to Support Bali's Most Vulnerable Children

The Marriott Business Council Bali is bringing back its flagship charity event this July, combining sport with social responsibility to benefit underprivileged children across the island. The Annual Marriott International Bali Charity Golf Day 2026 will take place on Saturday, July 4th, marking another year of the hospitality sector's commitment to community development in Bali.

A Day of Golf, An Evening of Giving

The event spans from afternoon to evening, beginning with the tournament at New Kuta Golf and concluding with a fundraising gala dinner at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa. This dual-venue approach maximizes both participation and donation opportunities, bringing together the region's hospitality community for a shared cause.

More than 30 hotels and resorts from Marriott's portfolio across Bali, Lombok, and Labuan Bajo are participating, demonstrating the breadth of hospitality industry support for local charitable initiatives. The event aims to raise IDR 1 billion (approximately USD 63,000) to support community programs benefiting underprivileged children.

Funds Support Long-Standing Educational Partnership

All tournament proceeds will benefit the Bali Children Foundation, a longstanding partner focused on expanding educational access and opportunities for disadvantaged youth. The foundation's work addresses a critical gap in Bali's education system, where economic disparities often prevent children from vulnerable communities from attending school.

The event operates under the theme "Play with Purpose," reflecting Marriott International's global sustainability framework called Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction.

This commitment aligns with international corporate responsibility trends, where multinational companies leverage their operational presence to create measurable social impact in host communities.

Tournament Details and Participation

The golf tournament will feature a Stroke Play format for both men and women, organized in multiple divisions using a System 36 handicap system. Players will begin with a shotgun tee-off at 12:30 PM, a format that allows all participants to start simultaneously and keeps the event moving efficiently.

Participation is priced at IDR 2,100,000 per person for New Kuta Golf members, with rates for non-members likely available at a premium. The multi-division structure ensures competitive fairness across different skill levels, encouraging broader participation.

Connecting Corporate Responsibility with Community Needs

Bali's tourism and hospitality sectors employ tens of thousands of local workers, yet significant wealth disparities persist across the island. Charity initiatives like this golf tournament provide a mechanism for the industry to reinvest in local communities, particularly through education—a foundational investment in Bali's long-term development.

The Marriott Business Council's two-pillar approach—"Nurture Our World" and "Empower Through Opportunity"—reflects growing corporate emphasis on environmental sustainability and economic inclusion. For international visitors and investors, such initiatives signal how major hospitality brands are engaging with local social challenges.

Registration for the tournament is now open, with the July 4th date providing several weeks for golfers across Bali's resort community to prepare for the event.
