Jimmy Carr's 'Terribly Funny' Tour Heads to Bali and Jakarta

British Comedy Legend Jimmy Carr Brings Edgy Humor to Bali and Jakarta
British stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr, known for his razor-sharp observational comedy and trademark deadpan delivery, is set to perform his "Terribly Funny" tour across Indonesia next month, bringing his brand of darkly hilarious humor to both Jakarta and Bali.
The tour will kick off in Jakarta on January 23, 2024, at Kasablanka Hall in South Jakarta, followed by a performance at IC Center in Bali on January 24. The visit marks Carr's first time performing in Indonesia.
A Comedy Powerhouse Comes to Southeast Asia
Carr has built a formidable reputation as one of the world's most successful comedians, renowned for his ability to tackle controversial and taboo subjects with wit and intelligence. His style—delivered with calculated precision and a distinctive deadpan approach—has earned him multiple awards and a devoted international following.
"I'm thrilled to be bringing my show to Indonesia," Carr said in a statement. "I've heard so many great things about Jakarta and its people, and I can't wait to share my jokes with Indonesian audiences – and that's all they are, jokes!"
The British comedian's career trajectory exemplifies comedic success. Since beginning his stand-up career in 1997, he has accumulated numerous accolades, including the British Comedy Award for Best Stand-up Comedian and the Royal Television Society Award for Entertainment Personality of the Year.
Beyond Stand-Up: A Multi-Platform Entertainer
Carr's influence extends well beyond the stage. He has become a fixture on British television, hosting and appearing on some of the UK's most popular chat shows and panel programs. His Netflix specials, including Funny Business and His Dark Material, have demonstrated that his particular brand of humor resonates with global audiences.
Mo Sidik, founder of Mad About Comedy Indonesia—the promoter organizing the Indonesia leg of the tour—expressed enthusiasm about bringing the comedian to the region.
"We're incredibly excited to bring Jimmy Carr to Indonesia for the first time. He is one of the most successful and respected comedians in the world, and we know that audiences are going to love his show," Sidik told Coconuts Bali.
What to Expect
Attendees should prepare for Carr's signature style: clever wordplay, observational humor about everyday absurdities, and willingness to address topics that many comedians consider off-limits. His approach combines intellectual humor with shock value, creating a comedic experience that appeals to audiences seeking intelligent, boundary-pushing entertainment.
Tickets for both shows are available through the promoter's official channels. Given Carr's international popularity and the rarity of his performances in Southeast Asia, audiences in Jakarta and Bali interested in attending should secure their tickets early.
